Z is for Zebra

For real, Zebra totally fits. This is Coen's favorite toy. This very Zebra, see?

Ahhhhhhhh! I'm done with ALPHABLOG!! Not one of my best ideas.

Y is for Yuck and Yummy

Well, five mos. seemed like I good time to introduce some rice cereal! Can you believe it?

He likes it now, but these were pictures from the first feeding. I think it was the texture that was throwing him for a loop!

X is for X-ray

Isn't it obvious that X would be for X-ray? Whew, I'm almost done!

Daniel says that every Halloween, all of the paranoid folk in Mineral Wells (including him and his fam ;)) would take their newly acquired sacks of Halloween candy to the hospital and have it x-ray'ed for things like razor blades and drug needles and such. He says they would leave the hospital with an x-ray picture of their goodies as a souvenir. I had never heard of this until I met him. And excuse me? Why can the hospital afford dozens of pointless pictures of candy and give them away free, but when I break my leg an x-ray is running me about $500 bucks? Did any of yall do this?

W is for Walker

No, not Walker Texas Ranger. That's not worth a blog.... although some of the jokes are hilarious. Anywho, Dan and I bought Coen a walker a LONG time ago. I thought it would be better than getting an exercaucer because, well, you can walk in it. It's been sitting in a box in his closet until he got big enough to use it. We broke it out about a week or so ago just to give him something else to play in. It was huge! He fell forward and "bonked" his head, his feet didn't even come close to touching the ground and he spent the whole time chewing on the little steering wheel. Maybe in a month or two...or three.<

V is for Valentine's Day

Well, I had to wait over a month to post this because I knew I would need it when V rolled around. Valentine's Day this year was one not to be forgotten. Daniel and I skipped the pressure of getting each other gifts, although Daniel did buy me a dozen red roses. I asked him why he picked red roses and he said it "seemed more romantic and very Valentine's Day-ish". :) We went to the drive-in in Granbury. It was so great! When we realized that they were showing two movies and we didn't want to see the first we left to get some Babe's chicken. YUMMY!! After we ate we went back to the theatre to watch the second movie, "Bolt". Coen was chillin, then he got hungry, then he threw up alllll over me. Yeah. Anywho, all in all it was a fun one. Hard to believe that last Valentine's Day I was pregnant and didn't even know it. Gosh. Time flies.

U is for Unibrow

HAhAhA! Nuff said! I needed something for "U"!!

T is for Tongue

It's funny how Coen goes through these quick, little phases. For a while there he stuck his tounge out a lot! I kept thinking he was chewing on something, but no.

S is for Spellcheck

I love spellcheck, or rather I have a love/hate relationship with spellcheck. I love that it will find and correct my spelling (and sometimes grammatical) errors, but I hate that it counts the word "Coen" as a misspelling. Coen is a form of Cohen also spelled Kohen or Koen. It's not a misspelling. Thank you. :P

Speaking of spellcheck....http://www.jimgaffigan.com/com_videoclips.shtml

R is for Robots

What a relaxing weekend. The weather was yucky, yes it was. Daniel and I opted for a weekend sitting around the house instead of running errands. Saturday night we left to rent a movie but ended up buying "Robots" for $7.50 instead. I've seen it once but didn't remember much about it. It's a really cute movie! I am surprised that I liked it as much as I did! Blue Sky Studios did a really good job with the animation. Everything looks so "textural". My favorite part was the cuddling! ;) Anywho, if you haven't seen it....do!

Q is for Quilt

A few years ago my mom, sisters and I went on a girls weekend trip to Fredericksburg Texas. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again. ::hint hint:: My dad gave us all spending money ( I know, he's awesome) and I bought this beautiful quilt! It's on our bed right now, until I can get duvet. A while back Dan and I were bouncing Coen on the bed and I took some cute pics. Enjoy!

Gosh, now that I look at them....he looks so young!

P is for Puppy Dog

OK, Puppy Dog, as in our dog Fetcha. It's a stretch I know. I'm just trying to get through this stupid Alphablog thing yall.

Fetcha was given to us by a couple from our church. She's a really good dog. I knew she would be good with Coen when I found out I was pregnant because i had seen her around other kids. Fetcha could care less about Coen but he loves her. Every time I play with Coen, Fetcha runs and gets her toys so I will play with her too. It's so funny! Today I was playing with Fetcha and Coen started to laugh. Funny stuff!
* I would like to note that she dissapears in this video to fetch her Octopus from her "secret stash" under our bed. Just like I told you!

O is for OUCH!

Coen has a pretty strong sucking reflex. Don't all babies? He will latch on to pretty much anything passing by him. Like a vacuum! Yesterday I went to Bible study and I left him in the nursery. After Bible study I was informed that my son had given the sweet little nursery worker who was holding him a hickey. That's right. A hickey right on the neck. I was mortified!!! Mortified!!! That is the first and last hickey he will ever give a girl if I have anything to say about it! Of course she is one of the prettiest girls at our church, not that that makes a difference, but, ya know. :) Anywho, he's embarassing me already and he can't even walk or talk. ::Sigh:: It's going to be a l-o-n-g eighteen years.

N is for Nursery

No, we're not having another baby. Not yet that is! ;) I was sitting and thinking the other day about how I would decorate another nursery if we had another boy. I kinda covered all of my bases when I decorated Coen's room in "Nostalgic Boy". I figured the next boy nursery would have to be an actual theme. I decided to go with "Farm". Wouldn't that be cute? Tractors and barns and farm animals? I'm so excited! After thinking about it for a while, I remembered that I never posted pictures of Coen's room because the uploader thing wasn't really working at the time. So... here ya go!

I love the blue color on the walls. I do wish it had a least one window though. It would have at least made cuter pics.

M is for Muffins

K, I love muffins. They are the perfect grab and go snack, and they aren't just a breakfast food yall! Recently I have come into this amaaaazzing Pumpkin Muffin recipe. A woman at my church hosted a cooking class (which I was unable to attend) but I recieved a copy of the recipes. I can eat the whole batch in 3 days I swear it. These are the best muffins of all time. Enjoy!

L is for Lift

For weeks and weeks now I have been encouraging Coen to "lift your head"! We've all tried to force him to have tummy time but he just hates it! He gives up and just screams. I hate to hear it, so I pick him up. At his 4 month check up the doctor told me to "put him on his tummy three times a day for twenty minutes at a time". HA! I just decided to carry him on my hip and give him a lot more sit up time to strengthen those neck muscles. Today, though, I rolled him onto his tummy and proped him up on his elbows and waited for the wailing. It never came. Coen was holding his head up high and looking around everywhere and ....smiling!! I couldn't believe it! My camera is full of pictures to I grabbed the video camera. Totally got it on tape. He sat there looking around and smiling for a good 5-8 min.! Hooray!

K is for Kisses

Im not much of a touchy person. Affection is great, but eventually I start to feel crowded and clostrophobic. If Coen has inherited this from me he had better get over it quick, because until he came I never thought I could kiss and cuddle something more. I mean, I love kissin' and cuddlin' my Daniel, but sometimes his beard gets scratchy, and sometimes his head gets heavy and he radiates too much heat! Coen, on the other hand is the perfect size, weight, smell, and warmth. I'll fall asleep and never get anything done if I cuddle him too much. I kiss him everywhere!! It's got to be therapudic or something. Daniel used to say (before we had Coen) that if we had a boy he wouldn't kiss him. He would give hugs, high fives and shake hands, because that's what men do. Hmmmm, I'll let you guess weither or not he stuck to that one. ;)

J is for Jammies

Oh I love jammies. Coen has a bunch of jammies but my very favorite pair are the monkey jammies he received from my aunt for Christmas. They are so cute and they are a two piece! I love the material they are made from because the pattern is so cute!

I is for Inner Child

Coen will be four months old this Friday. Everyone keeps telling Daniel and I that Coen is fixing to get really fun. I can't imagine him being any more entertaining that he already is. Especially since he is starting to laugh! I find myself being extra silly through out the day just to get a good response from him. I make the craziest faces, sing the goofiest songs and talk in the silliest voices. Sometimes I wonder is he is looking at me and thinking, "What the heck?".

H is for Haircut

Whew! Finally got a hair cut! It's short again, hooray! I have always liked my hair when it is short. It looks better, it feels better, it's easier to manage. I didn't want to have short hair when I had Coen, or after I had him. I didn't want to be one of those typical "moms with short hair". Well guess what. I'm a typical mom, and I like my typical hair. Here is a pic. Oh btw, I was getting puked on while taking this pic. Hence the oh-so flattering look.

G is for Grandparents

Gramps and Grammy to be exact. I have always been thankful for the parents that I have. Even when I was a kiddo, and a horrifically ungrateful teenager I knew I was blessed with wonderful parents. My appreciation for the both of them has grown into different levels over the past 10 years. First a college student, an engaged woman (or child!), a wife and now a mother. Each new phase sheds more light on how fundamental they have been in my life. Now I can appreciate them on a whole new level, as Coen's grandparents. They both just adore Coen and I know he is going to love going to Gramps and Grammy's house when he gets older. It's a wonderful feeling to know your child will have loving and godly grandparents. Having the type of parents I have is a necessity for every child, and having those parents become awesome grandparents to your children is the icing on the cake.
